Hi there! And here we are once more, if you are a regular subscriber. If not, then welcome to the FiddleBop email newsletter! :-)
Summer may be on the wane, but there is still time for lots of outdoor hot-jazz-with-a-gypsy-flavour before it gets too chilly in the evenings... And since we have a good weather forecast for tomorrow (Sunday 29 September), why not come along to Chippy Jazz and Music 2013? As well as FiddleBop at the Red Lion (see below), there are lots of other good bands on till a late hour. How about making a day of it?
It's been a summer to remember for us. All those outdoor gigs, and only once did we get rained on! (I'm probably tempting fate by writing this.) And we did lots of gigs, including some really memorable and fun ones. (Transporting our PA on a meat trolley through Oxford's covered market was fun, changing a flat tyre half an before we were due to play was more memorable than fun...) We've more gigs (outdoor and indoor) still to come before the year's end: check out the FiddleBop website and the FiddleBop Facebook page.
Thinking about online stuff: if you have a minute or two to spare, why not leave us a comment on our website or on our Facebook page? Were you at one of our gigs? Did something memorable happen to you? (Not getting a flat tyre, hopefully..) Tell us all about it!
And if you have 12 minutes to spare, have a listen to our recent demo. This was recorded pretty much 'live' in Steve White's elegant rural studio, last April (thanks very much, Steve!) It includes includes snippets of several tunes and songs from FiddleBop's current live repertoire. We'll be doing more recording in October, so more about this in the next newsletter.
That's all the chat for now. On now to the important bit of the newsletter: the FiddleBop gig listings. Remember: please check our FiddleBop website before setting to see (and hear) us, since gigs do get cancelled and timings do change.
